    do i have to have a dell to have this software dock or is there a free alt. out there that someone can point me in the right direction.

    RocketDock or ObjectDock are purty much the same but better imo. Using RocketDock at the moment and love it, plus no addware.

    you can only use the dell dock if you have a dell computer and windows vista.

    Plus my son as a Dell and the Dock has a lack of customization settings, no preinstalled skins and the rollover animation is boring. :rolleyes:

    Check out www.delldock.com if you want to give it a try. Even if you don't have a Dell, it might work (I don't know)...

    I am not sure if you should have a Dell for the Dell Dock to work, but I know that it's based on Stardock's Object Dock. The Difference is, the Object Dock is way more open for customization.

    Theres a version out for xp too, I know I used it. Its no where near as good as object/rocketdock, so I wouldn't bother trying to install it tbh.
