When I first installed Vista and viewed the network map, I could see the name of my wireless printer server(dlink1260) there, after doing all the vista tweaks, I can see my other networked computers but the wireless printer has disappeared and I can't seem to install the wireless printer driver thru the dlink wireless printer GUI. Helps

You probably turned off or limited network sharing.
-
firewall off, network discovery on, file sharing on, public folder sharing on, printer sharing on
-
btw, this is a vista reinstall on a dell xps m1330 i just received

Did you perform the "Workstation" disable tweak? This tweak is not meant for computers on a LAN. If you disabled the workstation service, you will probably want to turn that back on.

restarted workstation, didn't help

I'd say System Restore, if you have a restore point from before the tweaks.
Try going into your router web-GUI and looking for the printer. If you find it, setup a static IP. Then reboot the print server and see if you can find it in Windows.

i got the printer added manually using instructions from dlink's website, but can't get over that something is missing since I still can't view it on the network map. I would restore but I made a lot of other preference changes since then
did vista tweaks, now can't see wireless printer anymore or install
