    do i need active X in my laptop?

    is adobe flash player active X and active X control is the same?

    do i need to install them in my laptop to function my windows updates properly?

    Active X is not the same as Flash. Active X may be required for some website features to work correctly in IE. Alternative browsers may not support Active X without some kind of plug-in.

    EDIT: Triple post, whatever happened to the delete feature?

    how about this active X control? do i need this?
    coz i look at some forum and said that i need to enable active X through my firewall to be able to update again my windows update?

    In IE, Flash requires ActiveX. In other browsers, it doesn't.

    Windows Update... in Vista, it doesn't use ActiveX. In XP... I think it might, but I'm not sure.

    Some websites may require active X. It is one of those things that doesn't benefit you if you delete it but is a PITA when you do end up needing it.
