is adobe flash player active X and active X control is the same?
do i need to install them in my laptop to function my windows updates properly?

Active X is not the same as Flash. Active X may be required for some website features to work correctly in IE. Alternative browsers may not support Active X without some kind of plug-in.

coz i look at some forum and said that i need to enable active X through my firewall to be able to update again my windows update? -

In IE, Flash requires ActiveX. In other browsers, it doesn't.
Windows Update... in Vista, it doesn't use ActiveX. In XP... I think it might, but I'm not sure. -
Some websites may require active X. It is one of those things that doesn't benefit you if you delete it but is a PITA when you do end up needing it.
