I used FreeRAM something about a year ago, but then I stopped because I upgraded to 1 GB. This pertains to my very old desktop. As for laptop, I use nothing. 2GB is good enough that RAM management is not required.

In years past these programs servered their purpose when RAM was expensive and system memory capacity were small. Though they worked as described, they still took up resourses that they were there to recover.
Today however most notebooks can handle RAM capacities up to 4 Gig with most in the range of 1 to 2 Gig. With memory as inexpensive as it is and with capacities as large as they are these programs have seen their hay day. -
They never worked as described. All they do is slow down your system by fragmenting your ram badly, and forcing data into the pagefile. The only thing they're good for is making the "amount of free RAM" figure in the task manager look better.

I use FreeRAMXPro, and will continue doing so till my other 1gb arrives for a total of 2gb's.
Sometimes it frees up decent amounts of RAM. -
i personally had used & experimented with many ram management tools in the past - can only say that it is currently useless when u work with xp
cheers ...
do you use a ram management program, if so which?
