Hi there, i was hoping someone would know of some software/method that would let you download streamed quicktime files?

specifically the HD movie trailers Apple put up on their website, as it can be a pain to have to re-load them *every* time you disconnect from the internet.

Hope i've explained this clearly enough

If you view the source of the page, you should be able to find the direct url to the video file. Then, (depending on your browser), you may be able to enter it into the address bar to download it, then click 'save page as' or whatever.
Edit: I just tried it on the apple site. It works in Firefox, not in IE.
Also, when viewing the source, search (ctrl+F) for .mov to find the url easily.

If you use a download manager, you should be able to point it directly to the url.

Edit: also, quicktime pro has this feature built in if you wanna pay for it, or... get it in other ways. ;)

This might be a little off topic, but if you want to download videos from like google videos or youtube you might want to use http://keepvid.com/. Even though it downloads at .flv but you can watch that through vlc player.

If you have QuickTime Pro, some files like the trailers will be "savable" by clicking the bottom right menu option and saving it as a QT file.
