This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    are there any free programs out there can rip the movie part of a dvd to a file in .avi or .mpeg format?

    you can rip with dvd decrypter for free then use autogordian knot to make it avi both are free

    DVD Decryter and AutoGK is probably what you're looking for. For more information, try here. First link is a guide to convert DVD to AVI using AutoGK, precisely.

    However, if you want expert features, there's a bunch of free programs that will let you do it. You'll find all the information you need in that site.
