    I'm trying to add users to the administrators group, so I'm going through:

    - computer management or, run ---> lusrmgr.msc

    there are three accounts:
    - administrator
    - andrew
    - home pc

    How do I add andrew & home pc to the administrator group?

    for example, I right click andrew ---> properties ---> member of (tab) ---> administrators ---> add, finally at: enter the object names to select, what do I enter?

    thanks

    Click on "Advanced", then on "Find Now", then click on the group you want ("Administrators", I suppose); otherwise, you could just enter "Administrators". But, why do you want to do this? First of all, from your description it sounds like the user you are talking about already is a member of the Administrators group (the Adminsitrators item is faded because the user already is of that type), and if it isn't, you could just use "Change Account Type" in the Control Panel applet.

    Yes, it's strange that the applet lists it as admin, but when I'm using programs that require admin privileges only the default admin account that was hidden (administrator) allows me to do what I need to do.

    problem solved by:

    turning off User Account Control:
    Go in Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts\Turn User Account Control on or off

    also try running the .exe file as an administrator by right clicking, advanced, "run as administrator".
