    Use your Start menu to check for updates

    Windows Update is now included in Control Panel. In the future, to check for updates (or if this webpage doesn’t open Windows Update automatically):

    Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.

    :( no i cant choose service pack 1. im kinda clueless about windows updating but it appears i can only get the latest updates.

    Maybe Windows Update detects some leftovers from previous installations...

    Yeah, the out-of-order part could be the problem.
    Try uninstalling any drivers, and any security software, and re-run the SP1 updater. You can run everything on the default Windows drivers for the update process and then reinstall drivers later.

    yeah i actually got it to install it randomly appeared in windows update an i was quite happy. thanks again for your deticated support.
