I have a toshiba satellite A205-S4537, it came with Vista but my other software wont work so I reloaded windows XP Pro. I have worked around and found every driver except 1. I am in need of a driver for which my device manager is calling Ethernet Controller. I am thinking this is the 10/100 which is built in to the laptop since it is the only thing not working at this time. Can some one give me a link so I dont have to put this thing on my driveway and run over it a few times :]
thanks

Ethernet is another word for network card or controller. Look up the model number on Toshiba.com and download the appropriate driver for you OS. It's probably available for both XP and Vista.

I am not sure you have been to Toshiba's site lately, but most of there drivers they have are just for vista. Although I have been able to use some of them with success I have had no luck when it comes to this controller. For the model # I have [A205-S4537] they offer 3 choices a Marvell Yukon Ethernet Lan Driver, I tried it and it did nothing for me, a Atheros Mini-PCI Wireless Lan, which is corrupt. And a Intel 802.11 A/B/G/N PCLE mini card driver. The wireless is working fine. I just need the driver that will fire up my wired internet connection. Any suggestions?
Thanks

You're right, Toshiba will not support XP for that notebook. Try this driver from Marvell.

Did you try to install the Vista driver? It might work for XP.
If it is a Marvell Yukon Gigabit card, then you can find drivers from Marvell site as well. -
Nquach you came through with the driver, I thank you very much. Notebook is up and running with windows XP Pro with evrything working great. Bill gates you gives me a headache, and any major supplier ie [dell, toshiba ect] that dosent give the person buying the product a choice of which OS they want. Come back in 1 year and maybe we can talk vista.....:]
thanks again Nquach you rock.............
