    exe file open problem

    lately every time i try to open a large exe on my laptop all that seems to happen is the curser turns to the loading circle icon, all of my programs running stop responding and my computer locks up and i have to turn the power button off to restart

    i am wondering if this could be a software issue or more specifically a vista issue????

    is it to do with UAC???

    it has happened with both rafactor and cod5 beta

    I guess it could be UAC but this could be easily tested by yourself. Turn off UAC and try the files and if they run instantly - there you go UAC problem.

    Or try right-click->Run as Administrator without turning off UAC..

    It could also be an antivus program beside from UAC

    dw i think it was a problem with the file unzipper wouldnt load
