    Hi

    Recently I've encountered problems with my explorer.exe. It just crashes randomly (and then restart itself), especially when I launch some games (still it happened few times during simple work). Results are only windows of error, blink of a screen and mess with icons in tray, but it's a bit troubling.
    I scanned my drives with antivirus and spy sweeper, but it haven't found any crap at all. Then I've performed chkdsk with /r parameter and although it found and fixed some errors - crashes still happen.

    Any suggestions ?

    As it happens when you launch games, it may be a faulty video driver. Try updating it.

    Download and run CCleaner and see if you can fix anything through it.... (esp registry)

    @angad1608, I use CCleaner, jv16 PowerTools, RegCleaner, so my comp is "pretty" clean :p

    @nocturnal310, my lappy is XPS M1530 T8300 2,4GHz, 2GB ram, 8600M GT

    Try "Start" -> "Run" -> SFC /SCANNOW

    You've probably got a corrupted/outdated driver somewheres - not necessarily a virus or other malware. To get a more specific idea of what's causing explorer to crash, check in the events log to see what was logged when it crashed.
