first, i have a express card to 4 x usb and that works fine.
i have just got an express card with 2 esata ports on. i connect my backup disk to the 5v to usb and the disk spins. when i connect the esata cable i see nothing.
i have looked in the device manager and event viewer (very confusing compared to server 2003 or xp though) but cannot see either express device
the device manager refreshes when i plug/unplug either device.
what i am i searching for to see the esata device?

Does the external disk drive show up in Computer Management? (right click on My Computer, select Manage, then select Disk Management).

hmm, the device was under Storage controllers - JMicron JMB36X Controller (my internal card reader is JMB38X - confusing)
anyhow, device manager says its running ok.
still nothing when i plug in the disk, device manager doesnt change and nothing in disk management. have also tried another card from same place but thats no better.
update: works fine on windows 7 32bit using the built in esata port on my wifes laptop. about 50% faster than usb. not working though using the cardbus port :(

Are the drivers for the cardbus card installed correctly?
