    Hello all.

I searched for this, but only found old topics.

I just got my first external HDD, and I am looking for a software to backup certain folders from my laptop's HDD to the ext HDD.

I want to keep certain folders synchronizated between both HDDs (everytime I add/delete/modify files from a folder in the laptop, its automatically updated when I plug the ext HDD).

Free is better, but paid software (which is worth it) can work too.

    Thanks in advance

Synctoy from MS works. Syncback SE also. Don't believe Synctoy does the auto-sync when plugged in though.

That Vista thingy only allows me to back up my entire drive, and I only want certain folders.

I thought of Acronis, but I believe it creates files with its own extension, and I want to be able to access the files from another PC.

I guess I'll stick to copying the entire folder when I want to back up, and choose "merge folders" replacing only files which have changed...
