I have a Maxtor external USB hard drive. I want it to prompt for a password every time it’s plugged in. The drive did not come with any software or anything. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

I’m not sure. I am just looking for a way to keep the data on the drive from getting deleted by anyone else in the house. So it would have to work on any computer that plugged in the drive.
