right now google services -gmail, drive, search and all other - working but facebook not loading on chrome , ff or IE. very irritating and been happening for a while. sometimes it fixes itself n other times i just chose to ignore the fact that i am not being social enough :)

anyone with the same problem here and knows how to fix it?
i called my internet provider, they sent some fellow n we set some sort of DNS stuff - i had found this trick by googling it. it was fine for days until now. :(
this problem started only once i changed my internet service provider.

my av has been avast free edition for over 4-5 yrs. so that i have taken of my probable culprit list. :)

Well it certainly doesn't sound like browser corruption, given you tried on all three browsers. It sounds like funny (or not so funny) DHCP configuration. Have you tried flushing your DNS resolver cache? You can do that in the command prompt (I think CClearner does it also).

If you try that via command line, then the command is: ipconfig /flushdns

You can also try renewing your IP in command line: ipconfig /renew

You'll lose connectivity briefly when you do the renew command, but it will come back after a minute. If it doesn't, reboot the PC and/or the router/modem, and you should be good to go.

What IP address are you getting when you ping facebook.com (69.171.224.32)?
What happens when you try to go to http://69.171.224.32/ ?

This reminded me: if any of the other troubleshooting doesn't provide a solution thus far, then you can try connecting to Facebook via it's IP address. You can type: ping www.facebook.com

If you get a loopback (it should ping it three times and give you an IP address), then type the IP address you get from that command into your browser's address bar and see if it connects.

You can also try using a proxy. There are sites where you can use one for free; maybe you can connect to Facebook through a proxy server.
