    failed os???

    i have a HP mini note 2133, wen i turn it on it says windows is loading files then it goes 2 startup repair, which states its fixing disk errors, only problem is s/repair doesnt stop....
    i left it running 4 3 days!! itjust keeps running..
    i cant access anything on my mini, not even safe mode.

    i used the f8 menu and started command promt 2 run chkdsk, it says my c drive is dirty???
    also i tried summat else (cant remember wot!) on chkdsk and i got pop ups sayin filecud be corrupt.
    any suggestions on how 2 resolve my prob as im gettin really frustrated as ive only had it since november!!!

    Try to do a clean install. If that fail send it to HP for repair.

    Before reformatting, download a live linux cd ubuntu for example, burn it to disc, hopefully then you will be able to backup any data that you have by copying it to a external hdd/thumb drive.

    The mini-note doesn't have an optical drive with it, unfortunately. Fear not, because you can still use a USB drive to load up the Linux Live CD, as Carrot Muncher recommended (great advice by the way!).

    I believe you can simply extract the contents of the Linux Live CD ISO and copy all the files to a USB. Then in the BIOS for the mini-note, make sure that it looks at USB media first during boot up.
