I am having this issue with the FFDshow codecs that came installed with Shark007's codec pack, in that I don't seem to be able to get FFDshow to work with DVD playback in WMP. I have a hunch that the problem may simply be that I don't know what I am doing...
Here is what I tried: In Shark's Settings Application in the Swap tab, I simply set XVID/DIVX/MP4V in DirectShow to use FFDshow's codec. That seemed to have no effect at all, at least nothing looks different, and the FFDshow tray icon doesn't show up, even though it is configured to do so when the codec is used.
I then also set the MPEG2 codec in DirectShow to use FFDshow's codec; this did have an effect, but only the one that WMP now refused to play any DVDs at all, saying that it was unable to play the DVD.
Can somebody tell me what I am missing here?

Pirx, are you using 32 bit versions of codecs and WMP? OR are they both 64 BIT?
IF both are 64 bit when you launch the Settings application (3.3.6) as administrator, did you set the default player to 64 bit as suggested here?
