Is the process running in task manager?
If it is, end it and try it again.

If you have IE, you could do this; using the uninstall application in the control panel, remove completely any version of FF, then download FF3 and install it again.

I would remove both versions and also your profile. There could be something corrupt in it messing up the way it starts.

umm basically uninstall it and delete any entries in the registry
then delete the folder and use a program like revo uninstaller to uninstall it
so far i dont like firefox 3 it lags and my gmail doesn't refresh like how it did in ff2

Yeah, it is a surprising increase from FF2. I could easily get FF2 to use up 1 GB of RAM, but FF3 is sitting at 150 MB.

what kind of internet security products do you use? Google them to see if they have any problems with Firefox 3. It might just be that firefox gets blocked by default and you have to manually allow firefox to run (depending on your setting , kaspersky for example, may block FF3 when you boot it up)
