Ok every time I exit Firefox and then open it up again, it seems as if all my cookies have been deleted and none of my sites remember my passwords anymore. I have not changed any settings in Firefox whatsoever and in fact, when I check the settings in the options menu, there is no indication that my private data is cleared upon exiting. Don't really know what's going on here...it's extremely annoying cause it happens EVERY time I exit now. Any ideas?

i would try reinstalling the browser.

beyond that, some external programs like CCleaner also have functions to delete cookies. perhaps you have such a program installed, and it is set to constantly delete cookies? you could test this by using a different internet browser, and checking if the cookies disappear as well.

Which version of Firefox are you using? Firefox 3 is known to give a LOT of problems.

    Since when?
I have had zero problems with Firefox.

    To the OP:
    Maybe reinstall?
Or maybe an addon is somehow doing it?

Ah. I see that now. :p

Try running Firefox in safemode before doing a reinstall...

Did you ask Firefox to remember your passwords?

Yeah Firefox 3 always remembered my passwords, I've never changed anything and I've never had any problems with it until now. I literally just turned it on like normal and noticed that it doesn't remember anything anymore. And as far as CCleaner goes, I unchecked the Firefox cleaning box a long time ago so it doesn't delete my cookies or anything.

    I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!

For those of you having the same problem, follow these steps:

    1. Open start menu
    2. Click Run
    3. Type in "%appdata%" without the quotation marks
    4. Click on the Mozilla folder
    5. Click on the Firefox folder
    6. Click on the Profiles folder
    7. Click on your profile
    8. Find the file "cookies.sqlite" and rename it to "cookies.sqlite.old". Make sure that your browser is closed when you do this.

This should fix the issue. Enjoy :)

In other words, clear cookies? :p

    Nice work, though.

Edit: Never mind. Just realized that the problem could have been caused by a corruption in the file, and clearing cookies may or may not have gotten rid of the corruption.

Yeah clearing cookies before didn't change anything and besides, my cookies were cleared every time I closed Firefox anyway.
