Ive seen it take 90 RAM and 90 Virtual memory on my laptop. It sux! I can tell firefox is monopolising the RAM beause it becomes really sluggish!

Some memory fixes are here though:

Depends how long you've had Firefox running for, there has been some memory leak problems with the program, just try to save what you can and give Firefox a restart and it should run back to normal.

4 Hours? I've left mine on for over 3-4 days and the mem usage gets to around 100k mb.

Try this as well. Small trick, works well for me although I am not using it.

Just try it and please give us feedback. It definitely works.

BTW, no offense, Opera is really so good in memory and in amany other respects, much better than firefox, just my opinion.

yes, FF is not efficient with RAM at all. it's the dirty little secret that nobody wants to talk about when talking about how great FF is compared to IE. however, even with that, i prefer it over IE.

so, for OP, i'm not surprised it's grabbing a lot of RAM, but that does seem a little high. maybe just a quick reinstall of FF?
