When I got my notebook configured for my dorm they put Symantec Antivirus on it and another thing that requires me to log-in to access the internet. Since then(not sure if those are what it's from) I have a firewall that blocks me from using a certain program I have. I'm on Christmas break now and still having the same problem from other internet connections. Is there a way I can tell where the firewall is coming from so I can turn off/remove that program temporarily?

Sorry if my explanation is confusing, I sort of confused myself...

Its probably the symantec antivirus. It has an inbuilt firewall. Click on the symantec icon in the taskbar and disable the firewall temporarily from there

Well I had already tried messing w/ Symantec but I believe there is an administrative lock on it because I am unable to change most of the settings. I think I may just take it off my computer for now and get it back later...

password for the administrative lock is usually symantec unless they changed it

I wish I had seen that before because I removed Symantec and restarted my computer but it still says I have a firewall on. :(

Well, I also turned off Windows Firewall and it still didn't work. Then I restored the default setting on the program and it worked so I'm guessing it was some sort of combination of the three because when I tried turning off each thing individually it didn't work.
