hey guys, got a asus g50vt-a1 (d2d 2,53ghz,4gb ram,9800M GS 512mb) and currently installed: win7 x64 (also had that prob on vista).

when watching a flash movie in fullscreen (doesnt matter if youtube or smth else.. if hd or not) its lagging and not playing smooth.

useing firefox (latest version) and also have the latest flash version. gfx driver has always been a dox driver (changed it now as there is only one dox driver avi for win7.. but as i said i also had that prob on vista with the other dox drivers).

Also i have all needed codec installed.

What could cause that lagging? :/

Can you try playing the video through internet explorer and see if it still lags?

Firefox is generally less good when it comes to Flash. Mine does the same thing. It feels like it's going 15 FPS, or it's jumping. However, I do not get the problem with IE either. I guess it's just something that you have to put up with, or use IE for it instead.

Try removing Flash player with a dedicated unistaller from Adobe and reinstalling it.

I also have a feeling the connection speed is important too.

HD in Youtube worked better at my grandfsather's place than in the UK - even though both connection are technically capable of runnin it.

For sound it could be audio drivers...

Have you tried using the unistaller for Adobe's Flash player and reinstalling it?
You can get it here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

You could try to uninstall Firefox and the reinstall it and it should work.
I had the same problem once and it worked when I reinstalled it.

Just a little note to the OP:
It would be good if you could tell us what attempts at solving the probem you have made.

It would make it easier to help and allow us to possibly exclude certain ideas.

Adobe flash isn't accelerated by GPU, at least right now, thus it's fully accelerated by the CPU. On my netbook, 720P hd flash video on vimeo plays perfectly in IE8 while the video lags noticibally in FF.

if it also lags like that with opera, then it must be the plugin since both opera and firefox use the same plugin.

flash is really one laggy piece of software and hopefully it gets deprecated by html5 in the future, just my 2 cents.

I had this problem, it's caused by your video card driver. You said you run Dox. I was running the latest version from Nvidia 186.xx for laptops and I went back to the official ones for my Toshiba and problem solved. I'm pretty sure if you go back to a previous driver when you didn't have this problem it'll be resolved. Try the 2nd Nvidia mobile drivers even if it's beta it's more compatible with the 9m series, I believe it's 179.48 or something like that. Let me know if this works for you cuz again I had the same problem and it drove me nuts.
