you can still download the original Mosaic web browser from ncsa at:
ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Mosaic/Windows/Archive/
I think win95 edition of Mosaic in 1997 was the last release.![]()

It doesn't run on 64-bit Windows
. Guess I'll have to try it on 32-bit Windows.

Yep, I found that out....does anyone remember Cello? It was before Mosaic slightly, but never quite got the bugs completely worked out of it...
-
I will have to check this out later on this weekend!
Nope, on Cello!

Pretty neat! Nice find. I still remember using the mosaic browser way, way back when.

That's the browser!
Reminds me..
You can find almost every old version of Netscape here:
http://browser.netscape.com/releases
They used to have 3.x but not anymore, there's another site for that:
http://sillydog.org/narchive/full123.php
I keep the installers on one of my disks, they come in handy for checking website compatibility on old OSs (a surprising number of people use terribly outdated software). I have a few VM images of each release of windows and various generations of browsers.
Edit: Also. Firefox userstype about:mozilla in the location bar.
I forget which version it was but my favorite was "...and the text shall blink until the end of days..."
Good times. -
BTW, does that mean I can now call my copy of XP an antique, instead of what it usually gets called? -
btw, I'm putting Mosaic on my XP machine....I can't find Cello, but that's probably a good thing
