    g50vt-x1 with xp = no sound?

    hi, my problem's that. I've followed the xp guide for the g50v series and it all worked except that i have no sound.
    I have everything OK in the device manager and tried also with new realtek drivers...
    any help is appreciated

    that's the one i tried...
    there's no asus support for the speakers in xp but will try the vista32's

    vista32's not working...

    There's a bug in the BIOS if you have 'Play POST sound' set to No you will get no sound in windows. In the BIOS Setup (F2 at startup) go to the Advanced tab and make sure Play POST sound is set to YES. Then turn the volume setting to 0 to disable the startup sound. F10 to save and exit.
