whenever i watch a video in HD, trustedinstaller seems to rear its head and make my video look like a slideshow. The same happens with games. How do I gain complete power over my computer and throw trustedinstaller out once and for all?

I am an administrator, but i want more like super-admin... ie: this is mine, lemme loose, privilege.

sounds to me like your system is detecting a series of problems and is hitting the internet and/or microsoft.com for solutions. Try jumping into your system properties and setting up updates and problems solving to full manual.

Now, and more importantly, go through your system error logs to identify what is crapping out for a permanent fix

Being an administrator is fine, but you need to understand what your system is doing and trying to do before you go shutting things off.

Being a "super admin" solves no problems but only makes your computer more prone to attacks.

Technically everybody should use just a user account - most people don't and use an admin account - I do to - but that is enough.

    On the same note:
    Newsposter is right.

It may also be an idea to check your network traffic.

Also: Have you googled the problem? If it is common there would be content on the internet.
What OS do you use? I assume Vista (from your phrasing) - Edit - just saw its Vista in your sig. Its better to put this in the post by the way.

Also: If the problem is not common, consider a botched instal, damaged instal (by other software) or malware too.
