Vystal is a nifty little app that will give your Windows XP the Vista Glass Look !
It applies the Aero Glass effect on your window's border just by one click.
Features:
- Blur effect on all videocards
- Customize your borders
- Every opened window is being updated
- Run it on Autostart
- Search automatically for updates

Note: there are still some bugs on this application but overall it works nice!![]()

usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
it was taking too long to apply the effect so I quit it.
and I had all windows closed just like it recommended. -
It's definitely not working as I expected. Too many bugs. Froze Firefox!

Let me tell you guys something about Vystal, that seems to be some kind of beta program and it has been like that for a as long as it as existed.
The latest version is still very unstable and it locked my machine several times not to mention the "artifacts" it generated on windows. Also it really slows down windows and if you have more than 1 window open at a time it is trouble as it will simply lock up (I had to do a hard restart)!
IMHO that program needs alot of work to fix the numerous errors it has but if you want to try it you can but I assure you, you will not keep it very long but what it is trying to accomplish is quite cool...
-
yeah it locked up on me too so i just got rid of it
what are these "artifacts" and can you get rid of them? -
I've been using Windowblinds 5 and the skin called Arrow and you get the Vista look. IMO WB5 with the skin called arrow looks much much better than Vista aero and takes up only 3mb of system resources.

The artifacts that I am talking about are; to the guys that actually tried vystal, have you ever noticed that sometimes the transparency around the window borders sometimes whites out and then you have transparency and then a big white patch on the window border. Motion often is what causes this to happen (i.e when you move the window around then those white spots occur). After that the program usually locks up windows and I have to restart.

Windowblinds is definitely MUCH MUCH better!

I'm rolling back to Windows XP tomorrow. I will download WindowsBlinds 5.0 and Arrow, so I don't miss Vista. Now all I need is Widgets!
give your Windows XP the Vista Glass Look without using Windowblinds
