it's been couple of days that i've been trying to check my gmail and it wouldn't let me.
it says "the connection was refused when attempting to connect to www. google.com"
but it allows me to go to google.com and all of the other google related websites.
any1 know what the problem might be?
i'd appreciate ur help

Try clearing your history and cache...
Also, look for the GMail notifier extension, its pretty useful! -
i tried those as u said, but it didn't work.
i think the problem is w/ my connection.
cuz i tried it w/ IE also and it didn't work w/ that neither.
couple of days ago, i disable some of the start-up programs at msconfig.
do u think that might be the problem? -
Could be it...
Thus I don't mess around with msconfig
Im scared I'd hurt my baby -
hah,
i guess i'll enable everything again.
thanx anyways. -
PROBLEM SOLVED!
apparently i'd disabled some of the wrong programs. -
Try www.google.com instead of www. google.com Can you see the difference? -

Are you on your own network or something like a school network? If you're on the latter, it could be blocked by a network firewall - you'll have to ask the system adminstrator to allow it for you.
gmail blocked in firefox!!
