I need to uninstall the majority of programs on a pc. There is one I'm looking for in particular that does a complete uninstall unlike windows (add/remove), tried searching, can't remember the name.

    Suggestions?

RevoUninstaller...it's not as good as a clean install though.

jv16powertools imo. its what i like to use. it will remove the directory, registry entries, folders etc all for you. ccleaner will simply initiate the regular removal process.

not sure about that... there was one instance where msn messenger/windows live was having problems, it thought it was installed, add/remove didn't solve the problem, it kept me going in circles

    - someone suggested ccleaner, and it wiped msn/windows live from the pc :p

jv16 rocks. it will remove all traces or things. but if you are not sure what you are doing id be careful its a very poweful toold and it will allow you to remove things even if they are not supposed to be..

all ccleaner does is start the uninstall part of whatever program its removing

Well after you uninstall, you do the registry cleaner with Ccleaner...

But RevoUninstaller is the way to go. Uninstalls folders, registry keys, and files.

+1 rep on Revo Uninstaller McGrady, quick/intermediate but particularly the advanced uninstall is great.

i haven't quite found out what that does as of yet... :)

Using Hunter Mode in Revo Uninstaller, you can get rid of even the most stubborn applications that somehow find ways to defy you from uninstalling them. For example, I find that Adobe produces a lot of these annoying mini applications that won’t uninstall on any basis. At what point did I ever install Adobe Photo Downloader? I never did. But there it was in my Windows system tray the other day.

Hunter Mode delivers information to you about the applications you have installed, including whether they auto-start whenever you load Windows. It is also flexible enough to allow you to completely uninstall applications you don’t want, or simply specify that you don’t want them to automatically start even though you want to keep them.

if you ever want to do even more try jv16. it literally does everything...it compacts the registry moitors it edits find duplicate files and files in general, allows you to modify startup apps, exe, and dll's or to remove them etc.. great great program. but as i said if you ever do be careful with it. its very powerful for the novice user
