    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem

For some reason, I have a warning saying that 'This copy of Windows is not Genuine' on my desktop now. But this is my legit copy of Windows, and I'm the only one who uses my cd key. Anyone know how to correct this problem, I'm pretty sure this won't be good for me in the long run

    Thanks in advance!

    call MS support.
there are workarounds but they are not legal, since you claim to have paid for your copy you should get support.

No it's not....It's a copy I got from my school's MSDNAA that I installed on my laptop. I've been using this cd key for at least six months now, reformatted once in between and suddenly this happens.

If its legit, just call support, they will verify and help you get the problem sorted.

If I remember correctly some time ago MS released updates that were supposed to prevent this situation from occurring, perhaps you didn't get them and were amongst the unlucky few whom this problem affected.

I got the same problem with an XP Pro Sp2 I got from MSDNAA as well. Did you re-install it? If you re-install you need to get a new Serial. MSDNAA serials only work once. If you want to re-install or install on more than one PC you need a new serial from MS.

Contact the guy at your school who is responsible for setting up accounts for students etc. He has to request the new serial for you.
