    hi guys my friend wants me to look at his laptop, it is running really slow and doing crazy things, (thinks he could have a virus).

    i remember reading a really good step by step guide to scan computer and try to fix problems , i need to know which programs to use and in what order to do them,
    this thresd had it all in sequnce ,does any one know which one i mean or point me in the direction of a good one, been looking for ages .

    i use avast anti virus www.avast.com use avats 4 home just register your email and it will send you a key that lasts a year you can run a pre boot scan that will scan your pc before windows starts so if there is a hard to get virus it will get it. as for spyware ad adaware removal i use spybot search and destroy 1.4 and adaware 2007 both can be obtained from download.com
