My missus Acer Laptop- when you first turn it on it freezes on the acer logo screen (where you have the option to push Del to enter setup or F12 Boot Menu.). It's just stuck on there. Doesnt load or doesnt let me enter them areas.
I tried booting from the recovery cd, just reads it and does nothing. All I did was install a printer driver and it asked me to restart so I did. It just got stuck on the screen and does nothing else. I manually turned the computer off by holding down the Power button, turned it back on and now its doing the same thing!! Any help????? My missus is gunna kill me- its only a week old!

Same thing happened to me once, but I went to the BIOS and reset it on an Asus. Maybe it will work for you

Well, you can jump right to one solution: format and start over. If it's only a week old, you shouldn't have that much important data on it.

You say you try booting from the recovery discs, but that's a no-go too. Do you have an actual Window's disc anywhere? Or maybe try a third-party application like GParted to format everything and then pop in the recovery discs.

This should probably be your last resort, but it's what I would do if my computer was brand new and all of a sudden didn't boot up due to some driver issue.

Weird.......I just unplugged a 4 port hub and it booted fine. Could it of been a power issue to the usb? Shes had the hub plugged in since she got it, so thats kinda weird.

Was the printer connected and software loaded to the USB hub when installed or thru the laptop's USB? If so the laptop probably couldn't recognize the printer driver thru this hub and froze. Best to connect USB devices thru the laptop itself or if you're going to use a hub might be best to get a powered hub.
