    Hi.

I keep getting windows protection coming up and asking if a program can execute.

it says it`s a microsoft program.

but when i click block, internet exporer starts up and takes me to gambling websites.

I use firefox all the time not internet exporer.

I have run spybot and super anti spyware, and avg free, but it still comes up.

    can anybody help

Get a firewall app that will block the process, I find Norton Internet Security great, but it depends on whether you want to pay or not.

    Hi.

I find that Norton Internet Security, really slow the computer down.

AvG has just found 2 spyware, 1 is online games, still scanning.

just install AvG free anti-spyware, dont know if it is any good.

    thanks

    John.

I suggest giving the trial version of CounterSpy a shot.

If CounterSpy doesn't find the problem and remove it for you (I think it will), you may have to try an online scanner, or download an app like HijackThis and have an expert take a look for you. There are some people at various sites ( Tech Support Forum for one) who are great at helping folks get rid of tough malware problems.

    Good luck.

Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is the best client anti-virus + firewall application I have come across... download a trial, run a full scan and it will clean out your pc of any nasties.

If you want free: download bit defender free edition - best free anti-virus on the net....however it is free an will not offer the same protection level as a paid-for product.

AVG free is very poor - both on detection and removal.

Scan your installed programs list to see if there are any programs that look suspicious and should not be installed then simply remove them.

    Hi.

I tried CounterSpy, but it kept not-responding, and the update virus information, was so slow it would have taken over an hour!

anyway AVG free, got rid of the gambling website addware.

    And all if fine now

    thanks everybody.

    regards

    John.
