i've been listening to internet radio a lot recently, while leaving a skype video chat on, so its been irritating me that when i start the call, skype automatically seems to lower the volume of the other apps that are playing music.

how do i turn this "feature" off? also when a skype call is initiated it unmutes the audio,if i had muted the laptop before.

This is actually a windows feature built in to the os...What you will have to do is right click on the volume icon and then playback devices and then on the tabs pick communications... and set it to do nothing...this should fix your issue

ya.. this is a windows api that when called will lower volume of the system to boost the call volume... It does the same in a ton of different voip applications... when I used to use steam voice chat I would always wonder why windows would almost mute my game... that was it
