    how to bring back my laptops factory OS

    I'm having problems about my Windows vista home premium, and tried to change my OS to windows XP. then when I used the disk to disk sytem restore of my notebook it dos'nt work anymore. can anyone knows how to solve this??? my laptop is "ACER extensa 5620"

    -At what point durning bootup does a problem occur?
    -Did the Vista installation complete without errors?

    Does Acer provide the OS on your reinstall disc or do they just have a separate partition to restore.

    Did you delete the restore partition? (normally 5-15gb in a random format)

    In order to install XP on Vista machines, SATA support must be changed. If you did that prior to the attempt to install XP, it may be interferring now with the Vista install. You may have to reactivate SATA support.

    You should check your manuals to see how to boot into the restore partition. I would reccommend you type your Laptop's Specs and Model into your Signature as this will help us remember what laptop you have.
