does anyone know how to remove lame mp3 codec from your computer?
-
All you should need to do is go to your Control Panel / Multimedia / Devices tab and look under "Audio Compression Codecs". All your installed codecs will be listed there. You can re-prioritize them, disable certains ones if you wish, or remove individual codecs.

As far as I'm aware the lame codec is just a signle dll file - i.e. just remove the file.
But may I ask why you want to get rid of it? -
I'm running vista. I can't see any multimedia tab.
edit: i want to remove it because it is messing up another program that i am using and i don't really know what it does either -
Ok, search for lame.dll - you should find a file.
lame is jus tone of several MP3 codes/decoders -
Yeah LAME is just a .dll, it's not used as a codec but rather as an encoder.
