Just started using Vista today...I tooled around in the secuirty features part of the control panel and stopped a lot of crap happening that I don't need, but I wasn't able to turn off the UAC. Can someone point me in the right direction or tell me what I'm missing? Thanks :D

Unsurprisingly, Microsoft's buried this option pretty deep. Assuming you're using the "new" style Control Panel:

Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control On and Off -> Uncheck the box and click "Apply"

You'll have to reboot at this point, but when you get back to Windows, you should be free of those irritating pop-ups.
