    how to install windows 7 help!

    im getting windows 7 ultimate full x64 later this week just need some help installing it.

    i currently have windows vista home premium x64 and i want to clean install and delete vista and put a fresh windows 7 on it. do i just pop in the cd from within windows vista, select custom(advanced), tell which drive and install?

    do i have to do anything before i put in cd? like right click c drive and format it?

    If its Full then you can

    Boot from the DVD drive (CD drive) and then hit enter when prompted and choose install, choose advanced and delete your HD contents, or format it does not matter, (Make sure you backed up everything) then install it clean

    this is a clean install.


    If its upgrade you need to have vista on the laptop but you can still do a clean install.

    so the option to format Vista will be presented as I pop the disk in and choose custom install? ive been hearing people who done this still have Vista in there startup when they boot the computer up and all the old Vista files somewhere on the HD?! is this true? i dont want any remnants of vista on this machine, want it to be CLEAN
