Hello! I was just wondering how i can set a password for my guest account. I have the Admin account, which is what im using now and i want to have a guest account so i dont have to worry about someone messing up my files, whereas i dont have to worry about them causing catastrophic failure of my baby :)

i looked around but cant seem to find the link or whatever. i do hope they have one... any advice?

Hello! User accounts, yes i know thats where to toggle with all the settings, but
when i go to change account settings on my guest account, the only options i have are change picture and turn on/off account... nothing else.

    Oh. Sorry.

    Guest account.....

    Excerpt from Windows Help:
I recommend you just create another account, called Guest if you wish, that is just a Standard User account. You can let other people use that, and I believe you can create a password. ;)

No. Go to Computer Management (in Administrative Tools) -> Local Users And Groups -> Users. There you have the Guest user. Right click -> Properties -> un-tick User Cannot Change Password. That should do the trick.

Hello! and i notice the change of your avatar...

i got to computer management, then i lost you... the only things i see on the LEFT under "Computer Management(Local)" are "System Tools", "Storage",and "Services and Applications". when i click to open up the info inside, i cant seem to find Local Users And Groups...

Guest account does not allow a pasword, local groups and users (local group policy) is not available in vista basic or home premium.

Run "control userpasswords2" without the quotes. You have more configuration options there.
