From what I understand that's against EULA isn't it? Apple has removed the ability to transfer music from iPod to PC to minimize music theft...

Really? Doesn't pirated music normally start on the PC then get transfered to teh iPod?

Starts there, iPod is merely a transfer device in this case. I use my iPod, give you my music for yours, ect. That's why Apple designed it the way they did. Because of it's portability, and the fact that they are carried everywhere.

This discussion is fine and perfectly okay on NBR.

Personally, I think it's a silly restriction. What if your computer died and you needed to get the music off and onto another one of your computers? That's hardly music theft.

I transfered all my music with Winamp back in the day.
There's also (or used to be) some other, 1337 way, to do so. It included turning on the "show hidden folders and files" in Windows option and then browsing through the iPod for some folder (don't remember now what's it called, but probably "Music" :D) and manually doing copypasta. But the file names are usually screwed up, so that's why I went with Winamp.
Also, how does copying your brought music from one media to other make it a copyright violation? So following their logic, I shouldn't use the same CD for listening on PC, stereo and a CD player. For each media player I must buy a separate CD :D.
