I just installed Windows 7 and i thought it would replace my old window Vista and all the programmed would be gone ( which i prefer ) but no. when i turn on my laptop, it come up with a boot manage screen where i have to choose Vista or Windows 7. I can still see all of my programmed in my C hard driver even when im running Win 7. Is there a way to get rid of all of that. I just want it to look clean new just like when u first bought ur laptop.

    Help please

sounds like you didn't format the partition before installing W7. You can do that during installation of W7. I recommend doing this, instead of trying to clean by deleting files/folders manually.

During W7 install, you can select a custom install and pick the partition to use for W7. You can also format partitions, delete partitions, create partitions, etc.

Download the RC from Microsoft website, burn to DVD, stick it in laptop, restart laptop, select boot from CD/DVD when the computer is still starting up.

Not sure what you mean, you can install W7 as long as you meet the requirements. You can install over Vista, XP or Me if you want, theres no requirement to have Vista installed previously. But when you do put W7 on don't select the Upgrade option if you are installing over Vista. Hope that helps

if you upgrade, you have to have Vista or an earlier release of Win 7, like beta

The custom option is for a "clean install" which is by far the preferred method
