so i have no idea how i got that stupid antivirus xp 2008 virus crap. i havent been to any other sites other than the ones i frequently visit in the past 2 years. engadget, gizmodo, digg, ign,macrumors,ls1tech,youtube. and its a pain in the *** to get rid of. i thought i got rid of it. but when i start up and enter my pw its freezing up. i have to force a shut down and start back up before it works fine. i stopped using firefox and downloaded safari 3.1.2 and this browser seems to be better than firefox so far. i almost want to switch to linux entirely.

I recently removed that using Lavasoft Ad-Aware 2007. I think it was some trojan. You can also try kaspersky.

If you want to stay with Windows Reformat and reinstall. The best way to get rid of the issue. Also, once you do this get an antivirus program like avria and maybe a firewall and spyware/adware/malware program too.

I personally use Linux 99% of the time and love it, not just due to the virus issue.

Avast is a sweet free AV app that I have used for a long time with great success.

Try malwarebytes anti-malware. I think it's what they recommend at Wilders. It can't hurt.
