This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Even better than getting this program: make backups. You can't count on data recovery software to work. If you test your backups and make multiple copies, you can count on them.

    Definitely. It's just that a lot of people don't do backups until they need a program like this, and by then it's too late to save things a lot of times. May as well keep the post at the top of the page and remind people to do backups at the same time.

    Anyway, coming to the point: I agree, with having a 'backup' tool to fall back on in case the 'making backup' schedule is forgotten or just simply doesn't work in recovering files...

    I haven't tried this yet though, but coming from CNET, I'd take their word on it.
