This may not just be an IE8 thing (haven't tried it on any other browers), but I accidentally gave my google account an "igoogle" hompage; I much prefer the clean, streamlined look of the original google hompage. Now, even when I log out of my gmail account and open a new brower (google is my homepage), the same igoogle page pops up an I am automatically logged into my name.

Is there a way to just get rid of igoogle entirely?

If its just your default homepage just go into your internet settings - one of the icons in the top right - turn the starup page blank.
