I know this has been asked many times, but I'm looking for something pretty specific. I like iMovie, but it's too limited with file formats, and also you need a mac.

One of my main features I need is the ability to export straight to youtube.

I know Windows Movie Maker can do this but it's very very basic.

I'm looking for something between iMovie and Premiere Pro for the video-making enthusiasts. I do know how to use After Effects and Premiere Pro but some things are very tedious, especially if you just want to make a quick movie. (IE: Rendering the proper format, barely any presets, it takes a lot of steps to put it on youtube).

Anyone know any good video editing tool like iMovie?

    Thanks

Premiere Elements 7. It's extremely powerful.

You can render the file to h.264/mp4/AVC or whatever the program calls it to youtube for best quality.

    Thanks guys

Is premiere pro better than premiere elements? I mean, I'm very good at advanced video editing (after effects), and I do have premiere pro supplied by my school, but I still find premiere pro relatively advanced. I like iMovie because it's very simple and you can whip up a movie in no-time.

What I'm trying to say is: is premiere elements just a trimmed-down version of premiere pro? Or is it actually "simpler"?

I just don't want to have to use the browser to upload my YouTube videos because it takes forever...

Adobe Premiere Elements is a good start for novice and amateur use.

Also check out Ulead DVD MovieFactory
.... simple interface and good features like iMovie

I'm pretty sure Elements uploads straight to YouTube. It is simpler - but highly advanced features are there if you want to access them.
