I've been having problems with syncing my iPhone to iTunes on my PC.
I tried syncing my device with another PC and it works.

On my PC, Windows detects the iPhone (I can access the photos on my phone from Computer)... the problem is iTunes won't recognize it.
No error comes up whatsoever. After plugging my iPhone into my PC, nothing happens at all in iTunes.

Several of my friends have been having this problem too, and with other Apple devices such as iPad and iPod Touch, so I decided to post this in case anyone has the same problem.

    I tried the following:
    1. Switching the USB cable
    2. Restarting my computer
    3. Updating iTunes
    4. Uninstalling/re-installing iTunes following the instructions on Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    5. Uninstalling/re-installing the Apple USB Device driver
    6. Changing registry files (worst mistake ever)
    7. Running Windows Update

Did you disable any startup entires in MSConfig or disable services in the past by any chance?

Never, but thanks for the advice.
I'll try disabling some services to see if it will solve the problem.

Thank you so much! That solved my problem!!!

Under Startup tab, I disabled all programs except iTunes
Under Services tab, I clicked "Hide all Microsoft services" and then disabled everything except Apple Mobile Device
After restarting my computer, I was able to run iTunes and sync my iPhone
However, nothing else was running correctly, so I had to go back to msconfig and change the settings back to normal and now the problem is still here.

Do you happen to know the source of the problem?

Here are the services I have in msconfig:
    Adobe Version Cue CS4
    Adobe Acrobat Update Service
    avast! Antivirus
    Google Update Service
    Mozilla Maintenance Service
    NVDIA Display Driver Service
    NVIDIA Update Service Daemon
    Skype Updater

Here are the startup I have in msconfig:
    avast! Antivirus
    Java (TM) Platform
    Microsoft Office 2010
    Apple Push
    Adobe Version Cue CS 4
    Adobe CS 4 Manager
    Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager

I was thinking of a service that was disabled and that needed to be re-enabled rather than disabling additional stuff. If i recall correctly, there is a service called Bonjour that needs to be enabled as well as Apple Push. iTunes also needs to be enabled at startup.

Ironic how I did the opposite and made it work.
Anyways, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

If you still have problems, let me know, i can always revert to the windows 7 install in my N50 and check what needs to be enabled for my ipod to sync automatically with itunes. I'm running windows 8 on the N50 right now and no itunes installed on any of my computers at the moment (i absolutely loathe iTunes and try to deal with it as little as i can).
