Just got a new Dell 1737 running Vista 64 bit
Installed iTunes 8.1 64 bit and I get the following when I mount my ipod touch 16gig

    http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f339/ufatbasted/Untitled-1.jpg

I've uninstalled iTunes 3-4 times. quick time too. reset the ipod and nothing works I'm positive I downloaded and am running the 64bit itunes software.
I'm assuming iPod touch is not compatible with Vita 64 bit, My gen1 iPod shuffle mounts with no problems

If you are talking about the browse the drive option yeah they don't have that with ipod touch. You can do that with other ipods. If you are just trying to sync it works fine on Vista 64. I do it all the time.

I posted the wrong picture with my OP. That pic was for an error message I got when Itunes was installing it took 2-3 installs to get it to install.

When I plug in the ipod touch I get an error message to unintsall iTunes and install the 64 bit version. I've uninstalled itunes and quick time more than twice, downloaded and installed iTunes 8.1 64bit and still get the same error message.

My old iPod shuffle works fine and my ipod touch works fine on my xp machine

well I got it. I re-installed windows let it update. Then I removed iTunes.
I opened up the itunes.exe file in win war and installed the apple mobile device support, then quicktime.

The I ran the iTunes set up program as an administrator and it worked
