I've had Windows Vista for about a month and a half now, and I've had a second generation 8GB iPod Nano for longer. However, yesterday my iPod broke, so I got it replaced under warranty, and now iTunes crashes every single time I plug in my iPod. This is also a second generation 8GB Nano with firmware 1.1.1. I know my last iPod had 1.1.2, but originally started with 1.1.1.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes/Quicktime. But that reinstall did not go smoothly. iTunes quit installing saying that it could not be completed because it requires Quicktime - which I had told to install. Running the installer a second time, iTunes said it installed properly.
They only setting I have for autosync on my iPod are my Podcasts to auto update with unplayed episodes. Two of the Podcasts made it onto the iPod once, but since then I can't have iTunes open for more than 3 seconds before it crashes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you remove the registry entries for iTunes/Quicktime? I had a similar problem with my 4gbNano but it actually erased the music every time I plugged it into the USB.
Found out that turning EQ off prevented this (in addition to reinstalling and running ccleaner).
You should try turning EQ off within the ipod itself and see what it does for you. -
This iPod is brand new, so it doesn't have the EQ set to anything. I'm going to uninstall again and run CCleaner. Thanks.
EDIT: Now this is why I love these forums. Quick and proper answers all the time. Running CCleaner after an uninstall, followed by a restart + reinstall and everything's working properly. Thanks again.
