I wanted to upgrade to itunes V10, but when I installed version 10, I was unable to start the program after successfully installing the program.

I then uninstalled version 10, and reinstalled version 9. But, now version 9 is not starting up as well! I'm at a lost as to what I should do. itunes was start in admin mode, as well.

    Windows 7 64 bit.

May be a silly question, but have you restarted your computer? Or did you in between upgrades?

    Cheers.

Did you use a registry cleaner as well? Some keys may be left over and causing the problem.

I'd try a full uninstall with something like Revo Uninstaller, and then use CCleaner's built in registry clean up to tidy things up a little. Then install again.

If all else fails try to manually unistall(erase) completely the file and then reinstall the program.

Exactly what I was going to say. It sounds like a/some corrupted registry keys.

Thank you all for the responses. I did restart in between installs/uninstalls, and I did use a registry cleaner (ccleaner). I will give Revo a shot! Thank you. :)

I used revo uninstaller, with advanced uninstall. Restarted the computer, but it still would not start itunes. Any further suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I suggest that you try an earlier revision.
    That should work fine.

Thank you for your suggestion, but unfortunately version 9 was one of the first fixes I tried. :(

Gave it a try this morning, no go on version 10 or 9 of iTunes. :(

But I was able to get itunes working after by downgrading to version 8, and repairing quicktime after a clean uninstall using Revo.

Thanks for all of everyone's help. I really appreciate it!
