I cant seem to find a fix to my iTunes skipping.
Ever since I got my new Latitude and installed iTunes (two weeks ago) im having this new problem.
Almost sounds like a cd skipping.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem?

Have you tried reinstalling iTunes and was your computer on standby prior to you using iTunes?

    Multiple times and multiple versions.
Not use what you mean by "standby" before installation...

You have a E6400 right? Try installing the latest version of the SRS WoW IDT sound drivers. That might help with the stuttering. I don't think it's iTunes itself, you should run into this issue with all sounds. Also check into the Latitude DPC Latency threads, there's documented directions on how to maybe combat that further.

Good point, but I would test that theory by trying to play music with WMP or another program and seeing if you have the same problem.

Also, you could try uninstalling the drivers... Vista's (is this Vista?) built-in sound drivers work fine with most sound chips.

This audio skipping problem seems to be most apparent with iTunes. I've been trying to resolve it for a couple of months now. When I play the same audio files in WMP or Songbird (a free player that plays all iTunes files) the audio skipping is not apparent at all. See this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=328365&page=3

I've tried numerous suggestions posted in that forum, some have helped, but none have totally eliminated the problem. Seems to be a compatibility issue between Vista and iTunes. I've just resorted to using Songbird to play all of my songs that were purchased in iTunes.

What version of Vista are you using?
I am now on Home Basic, but I did not have the problem on my other laptop which has Vista Biz on it.
Also, the problem for me is prevalent in Windows Media Player.

    akwit,

It's in my signature (Vista Ultimate, 32-bit). For me the problem is isolated to iTunes. WMP is fine. This may be a dumb question, but have you tried the most recent Intel Matrix Storage drivers (8.8)? Many have reported success after installing those drivers, but for me iTunes still skips.

I dont belive so; what are those drivers for and where can I find them?
Forgive me, im not the savviest of computer users...

By the way I uninstalled the Bluetooth Audio Drivers and I could swear the problem has greatly diminished and may have even entirely stopped. I have some more listening to do.
