Is there anyway to increase the resolution if the maximum is the bog standard 1024 x whatever the other is. Its too big for me and id really like a bigger one, anyone know how to change it?

LCD screens have a set number of pixels; that is, they have a fixed resolution. They can scale down (which results in blurriness), but they can't go any higher.

Ditto, no way you can't run a higher resolution other than the specified by the manufacturer (which has to do with the pixel count - hence 1024x768 for instance).
